It would seem Kiki is heading off to highschool in Japan!
This was a pretty extensive piece for just returning to drawing after a few months away. (Away from drawing that is... too much work.) The basic image wasn't too bad, but the devil is in the details, and in this case the details where a killer. Stickers, shiny luggage hardware, a bit more detail in the hair and I threw in some fancy eyes for good measure. Whew! But, when all is said and done, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Penciling was done in two phases (rough and very detailed) then inked by hand on coated stock. That was two days. Then another two days for the coloring and shading. Total file size in photoshop: 362MB! By the way, this is available as a print up to 11x15 inches in size. If you're interested, note me.  |
